Research Assistant

Helped develop and implement a network of biological monitoring stations across the Upper Peninsula of Northern Michigan.

Biological Science Technician

Helped implement modern GIS management technology at the Ottowa National Forest.  Incorporated decades of accumulated wildlife data into the updated system.  Aided in GPS identification and management of timber resources.  Fought wildfires in Nevada and Arizona.

Graduate Research Assistant

Developed mathematical model of the growth of photosynthetic biofilms on the Rotating Algal Biofilm Reactor.  Grew photosynthetic biofilms at both pilot and industrial scale for the tertiary treatment of domestic wastewater, while simultaneously producing algal biomass for the conversion to different bioproducts, including bio-diesel, bio-gas, and pharmacologically valuable pigments.  Managed a team of undergraduate researchers on multiple related related products.  Developed new designs to maximize treatment efficiency at bench, pilot, and industrial scale.
